Bio/Artist Statement:
I have had a lifelong passion for art. I recently retired from the tech industry and my wife, and I moved from Colorado to Nevada to be closer to family. Over the years. I have experimented with a variety of mediums such as bronze sculpture, stained glass, oils, and acrylics. My current process involves using a combination of acrylics and sometimes mixed media to produce “Pop” style paintings that reflect my love of bold, earth tone colors and contrasting shades. I enjoy re-imagining vintage family photos, using grey tones on brightly colored backgrounds. giving them a high contrast, “3-D” effect. I also enjoy painting semi-abstract landscapes that are inspired by the energy of Las Vegas, the surrounding desert, or the peaceful beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. My landscape paintings almost always include bold skies and sunsets to give an extra level of depth and atmosphere. I believe art should showcase not only the outward appearance of things, but more importantly, their inward significance.
