Denise Capobianco

“Being able to capture Nature’s beauty and share it with others is truly gratifying!”

Denise is an artist best known for her realistic portrayals of birds, wildlife and beloved pets. Art has always been a part of Denise’s life and began with her passionate love of horses. Growing up in the semi-rural area of East Aurora in Western New York, she developed a fondness for animals and birds and channeled this love into sketching and painting as a young girl. She spent countless hours drawing with the encouragement and support of her family. Her work derives from a life-long appreciation and love for the beauty and mystery of nature. “I find the ever changing colors, shapes and patterns found in animals and nature to be an endless form of inspiration and wonder.”

Primarily self-taught, and inspired by well known wildlife artists, she has studied with other various artists developing her own techniques and style. Having worked in the other media, Denise has found the detail, glazing and overall effect created with colored pencil lends itself best to the results she desires in her work. Each new piece creates its own challenges and inspires her to pursue this medium.

Professionally, Denise was a commercial artist for 14 years, working a a graphic artist in advertising as an illustrator and designing newspaper and print advertising for an arts and crafts company. She left the advertising world to raise her family. As her children grew older, she began drawing again by taking a sketchbook along while at the park or pool with her kids and  eventually started painting again. Born and raised in a small town in Western New York, after her children were grown,  she and her husband moved to Henderson, Nevada.
