Artist Bio – Sandie Burchell

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began creating as a child and have spent many years exploring and experimenting with painting and many other crafts (and I still am!). I work in gouache, watercolor, acrylic, oils, mixed media, and collage, often creating detailed traditional and abstract pieces that I hope make people feel happy when they see them.

I find inspiration everywhere - in daily life, in dreams, and in the endless beauty of color. I was born in the United Kingdom but have lived in the United States for many years. After a long career as a digital creator designing greeting cards, I’m now retired and finally have the time to devote fully to my art.

Creating is my life. I couldn’t imagine a day without making something. I often think about people who have no interest in creating art and feel sad that they don’t know what they’re missing - the joy, the wonder, and the deep satisfaction of bringing something beautiful into the world.
