Nisey Garcia

Artist Statement:  I am very new to art. I started taking art classes for 9 months, and while I'm not taking them now I'm planning on resuming them.  I work with acrylics, oil, and charcoal, with my favorite of all being charcoal! I like how by balancing values (dark, medium, and light tones) an image will appear in front of your eyes!

I love drawing women faces and portraying them as powerful, resilient, or beautiful.  

What inspires me is to show others that art can be a source to connect with yourself and others. Art can be therapeutic and meaningful. 

I feel peaceful and present while I am creating, and I would like for others to feel the same when looking at my artwork!
