About the Artist - Carol Bilodeau

Carol has lived in Nevada for over 20 years and been a member of the Boulder City Art Guild for over 15 years. She moved from a suburb of Boston in 2004 to escape the cold and snowy winters. Her passion for photography was truly sparked in the 1970's when she started taking photography night classes in Boston. As the years have gone by, she has reignited her love for photography by capturing the beauty of the area she lives in and during her travels.

Many of her greatest accomplishments in photography includes capturing the beauty of nature in such places as Nevada, Alaska, Canada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, North Carolina, New England, Florida, Italy, Hawaii, Sicily, Sao Miguel - Azores, New Orleans, South Dakota, and National Parks - Bryce Canyon, Badlands, Wind Cave, Zion, Red Rock Canyon, Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, and Haleakala on Maui. She is continuing to expand her photography with future trips to the South Pacific, Europe, and New England.

She has expanded her artistic abilities to encompass the mediums of Alcohol Ink and resin. She experiments with both these mediums utilizing a variety of different techniques. She has created numerous alcohol ink abstracts on repurposed wine bottles, ceramic coasters, vases, repurposed record albums and bookmarks to name a few.

Subsequently working with alcohol ink has led her to the medium of resin. Incorporating this expertise with alcohol ink and mica powder to create such resin items as snowflake ornaments, trinket dishes, angel ornaments, snowflake boxes, heart boxes, bookmarks, magnets, sealing alcohol ink ceramic coasters and a special heart hug.
