The featured Artist for March is Susan Richardson-Kaumans

Susan is originally from Beaverton, Oregon and spent her younger years growing up on the west coast of the United States. She has lived in Oregon, Hawaii, California, and Arizona. She currently resides, with her husband, in Las Vegas, Nevada. As an artist student in her high school years, Susan has influence from all her residencies as well as her educational background. Susan achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Northern Arizona University and after graduation worked in several fields to earn a living while her artistic skills were secondary. Elective education in stained glass led to employment and an attempt at Paralegal studies offered a look at Contract law.

The years spent in higher education afforded Susan the ability to be versatile as to media and subject matter. After many years earning a living in retail management with a large framing and art materials dealer, Susan settled in Las Vegas and was lured by the casino industry to study and earn a living in the field of wine, thus developing a muse she entertains today. Her passion for light and color with dramatic focus are apparent in her traditional impressionist style images. The best description of Susan’s approach to her expressions is passion. It is the driving force behind her images portraying all things that make her world.

Her art exhibit 'Transitions' is on display in the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery in the Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona Street, Boulder City Nevada, throughout the month of March.

Her reception will be held on Saturday, March 11, from 1 to 3 pm at the BCAG gallery. This exhibition, like all others, is free and open to the public.
