Linda Shaffer is the artist behind Red Pearl Art. She is an award winning Southern Nevada artist. Her sense of humor and passion for the abstract can be seen in her sculpture, mixed media, painting, prints, jewelry, and designs using recycled materials. She finds the artistic experience tremendously satisfying and takes inspiration from nature, travel and the joy of living.
Linda began her art career as a functional potter and still loves working with clay. She started working in acrylics and jewelry while in graduate school, because “clay is a demanding mistress” and she does not wait well. “Painting and jewelry are projects that can be stopped and easily begun.”
Currently, Linda tends to work in a variety of mediums at one time, which satisfies her intense desire to create. Her favorite medium is “the fun of being creative, I enjoy creating.” One will find a butterfly represented in much of Linda’s art – “The butterfly is often seen in many of her pieces and represents the eternal journey of beauty, beauty often unseen but always present.”
She is a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America’s Graduate Jeweler program, a founding member and corporate officer of the Fabulous Las Vegas Scribes Calligraphy Society 5013c as well as an active member of Boulder City Art Guild.
